I just put up my used Ham II. It was working fine on the bench. I took the housing off after testing to apply white lithium grease. I then put it up. It will turn okay, but the meter is staying put on north and I tried to calibrate and that is at south. Also, I was about 6' short on rotor wire(in the house), so I had to add some somewhat heavier individual wires until I get a longer run. Would the heavier wire spliced in cause a problem with the light wire? I do not have the manual and would appreciate some help. If someone could scan/email me a copy or even just look up the troubleshooting in the manual, that would be great! |

hello musky. when i trouble shoot a problem i like using the old process of elemination. First make sure that the rotor turns in the proper direction. if it does i would guess that you accidently got some of that lithium grease on the variable resistor located in the top of the rotor that tells the meter what direction your pointed, or somthing mechanical has happened , brocken wire , bent wiper arm for the resistor. etc. If it worked ok on the bench after you greased the bearigs then i would double check the add wireing. your friend reno |
