HI EVERYONE, can any one out there tell me how many watt's will copper's low pass filter will handle? will they handle more than 1.kw if not doe's any one know where i could find one that doe's tks....Dan |

for the price they work very well. since paradynamics doesn't list any specs on them i did some myself a while back(i was skeptical because of the low price and no specs). i got out my notes of what i found, and here you go. at 27.205 input swr of 1.1:1, rising to 1.2:1 above 28.5hmz. at 27.205 an insertion loss of 0.75db , 47.75db of attenuation at 54mhz. the attenuation isn't quite as good as some of the higher dollar ones(55-65db of att. at 54mhz) but like i said for the price, you can't go wrong. above tests were done with mfj269, and hp8920. |

Re craz..... In addition to checking the power handling you might also want to look over the cutoff point at which the filter kicks in as well as the slope of the attunation after reaching said cutoff. A good low pass filter will have a cutoff frequency high enough to let you talk where you want to talk after which it kicks in and almost vertically (as close to a clean vertical) shuts off all freqs past it. Good low pass filters have an almost strate up vertical reaction line with little, if any, deviations going down to almost zero output with the bottom being almost flat as a flat pancake. You probably will not need this kind of a pure filter, few do. But get the best you can afford. Good is never cheap and cheap is almost never good. |
