Steve toms, You adjust the Power Out with the RF POWER Knob. Turned All the way to the Left is Low Power, All the way to the Right is Full Power You adjust your SWR By Setting/Adjusting/Trimming your Antenna for the LOWEST SWR Reading's On Channel #1 Channel #20 and Channel #40. Hope this help's. Lon Tech808 Lon Tech808 |

Steve, I would like to add another tip in adjusting swr. If the swr is higher on channel 40 then on 1 you need to shorten the antenna. If the swr is higher on channel 1 then on 40 you need to lengthen your antenna. Also, don't forget to recalibrate your swr meter everytime you adjust your antenna. Just simply adjusting and pressing the mic to re-check without recalibrating will give a false reading. In my opinion, I would work with it until you get it no higher then 1.5 Better would be great. But my personal feelings are, I am not satisfied until I am at 1.5 or better. If you do not have the means or ability to get it to 1.5 make sure it is not over 2.0 or you are in the possible danger zone and that could damage the radio. Here is a site that may help you furthur. www.firestik.com/Tech_Docs/Setting_SWR.htm Good Luck, Kattracker |
