I just bought a used A 99.The swr is high,does anybody know where the tuning rings should be set? |

Mike, You have to Adjust the Tuning rings for the Lowest SWR. Your SWR depends on your Coax, Grounding, and Mounting of the Antenna. There is NO PRE Set on a Used antenna as you have no idea where he had them set at. Hope this helps. Lon Tech808 |

Mike Usually new out of the box the rings are set in the middle of the threads. This setting puts you in the middle of the CB band at approximently channel 19-20. Like Tech808 said, if you are using good coax and the antenna mounted correctly, you should have a near flat SWR. If not, then more than likely something is wrong with the antenna. Jeff, kc0gxz. |

Thanx guys,I put the tuning rings in the center and achieved below a 1.1 to 1 match.The needle on the swr is just coming off the 0 line, |
