Just recieved a new kl300p from Coppers today. Hooked it up to my 2985dx and astron 70 power supply, turned it on, whistled and the darn thing caught fire!!!
Just kidding...works great!!! Getting about 275 peak on a new dosy 3001 meter. It will be going in my girlfriends car. Nice little box for the money (about the size of a vhs tape).
Thanks Copper, Hooty

Man how do you guys get that much out of them, mine will hit about 200 SSB (Whistling), and on AM dead keys about 100 swinging to 125 or so.....What am I doing wrong?? Dont get me wrong this little amp never gets hot, and has been at it for over a year, sounds great..I am hitting it with about 3 watts dead key on AM..Have tried other settings, it is powered by an Astron 35 amp power supply..Love it, but would like to see more numbers on the meter, which by the way is an MFJ Versa Tuner...Thanks, Tom Shaw

On AM, I drive my 300p with 1.0Watt swinging about 13Watt. This gives a dead-key of about 25Watt swinging 175Watt! It sounds loud!!! I talk DX with no problems. SSB gets about 260W PEP. These are good top-limmits without stressing out, overheating and blowing the amp. I modified mine for Class AB use on SSB, for audio clarity.

Mine come from copper ready to go...as Inspector said with the dead key & swing my numbers were in that range. Also read a mod (inspector wrote) about putting in a switch for the pre amp that I might do. My girlfriend is using hers in her car behind a Delta Force and sounds great!! Hooty

Hey Jeff,
I got it from Copper, and it was already done...I wonder if I ran the input voltage up by one volt,if it would make a difference...I have tried it with both of my radios, and the results are about the same...Dont get me wrong it sounds really good, tight clear audio, just a little lower than what most others claim theirs do...Thanks for the replys, Tom Shaw
