I Found an ARF2001 today!! I was at a local flea market and was just browsing around. I opened a box I saw in a booth that was marked "old cb". I asked the lady in the booth about it and she said it belonged to her husband(deceased). She let me look at it. It had a label on the bottom saying "not working repairable".

I bought it for $10 including the mic!! I brought it home pluged it in and well yes it is dead, doesn't smell burnt.

Where would you start looking for the problem??

I am not familiar with that radio, but often times a radio will blow a protective diode if hooked up backwards or gets a hit of lightning.

If that is the case you will have a cheap repair if that is all it is. I suggest asking tech 808 or 307. They could probably give you a good starting point.

Cked the fuse it is good. I cked pwr in ..good there ,power out, BUT very low!!

Power suppy ???

Any help??

Well worked on the ARF all day and still no luck.

It does come on the blinks a few times then quits.

Anyone got any ideas??

NO external 12volt hookup!! I might try to bypass the internal supply. It shouldnt be that hard. I am looking the for a manual but so far no luck.
