He can't buy a Lincoln. Copper has sold out according to the picture on the front. I know, cause I wanted one, but still worrying about the job holding up. So I waited too long and now, they are gone. CEF 150 Tech 808 NOTE! Keith, Nothing to worry about, The WEB SITE was wrong, there are 15 on hand and more coming in! Lon |

2995 ill cast my vote too.... Great radio! Great RX and great TX.. Will easily see 150 or more on the meter. Just keep the deadkey down to under 40 watts and let her swing!!!! In comparison to the 2990 i had i like the 2995 MUCH better! Although i miss the ease of being able to tinker on the insides of my old 2990. |

Find a good used yaesu 757 and mod it. It will blow all these so called export rigs away in both transmitt signal quality and recive sensitivity is excellent. I know there are far better rigs out there but you stated that your budget allowed for 600 bucks and that is abt the going rate on a excellent 757 or a good 840. Dont mess with these so called DX radios they are junk. Get a good quality and properly filtered HF rig and you cant go wrong. Oh by the way you do have a ham lic. for this dont ya? LOL. |

codeman, I can tell you that on AM the exports would have better results. Im not sure if radiodude likes am/ssb but if hes a serious am'r then the export would be the better choice. |

Taz explane to me why a cheaply made rig would be a better choice than a fine clean, quality hf rig manufactured by ICOM,YEASU OR KENWOOD. They all have the aincent mary mode as well and they are all filtered and spot on freq. out of the box. Unlike those so called DX splatter boxes that you have to keep sending back hopeing the manufacturer will fix it rite for you. Pls. explane in detail abt the advantage you see maybe im missing something... |

Codeman I think we agree on this but not all export radios are junk. I had a number of them and except for 1 they work well enough for the average CB user .......I beleve in buying a radio that was maded for that band and i spent good money to have them........ darn i miss my ft-100 now i have to run 3 radios to do what one set did one on 2 one on 6 and one on HF o well at least the old DX-70 is still working just fine on 6 |
