I wonder why Ranger dont make a 160-10 meter HF radio? I believe they have the technology? there seems to be tons of room in the 2995 chassis for a base model and if Yaesu can fit HF VHF and UHF all in a tiny chassis of the FT100D and the FT857 then the 2950 chassis could fit all as well dont you think?

Thoughts??

Believe it or not, RF Limited had/has a "40 Meter only" base radio that uses the same cabinet as the old Cherokee base radios.

ranger should make a radio that goes continuous 1.5-440 all mode on tx and rx. now that would be a feat

Better yet , Someone needs to come up with a 1/2 pound screwdriver antenna...I run an ATAS-100 antenna on my car and at 70MPH , I find I am looking out the mirror every 1/2 mile to see if it is still on the trunk mount. I use a FT-100D in the car. If you look at ATOC (Iron Horse Antenna) http://www.atoctechnologies.com/ They have a "micro-mini 20 meter" antenna that REALLY works and talk about small????(IHM--FS series)I have one on my trunk using a Comet AD-35 adapter.

There is a Philippine company called Jopix that has the same 40m radio as the Magnum. I see them once in a while on ebay.
