joe,

Sorry, can't help you on this one as I have not even seen a Northstar Radio yet and have no idea how they are wired.

Joe

I really love those Diesel mics but the problem with them is the fact that I don't think they ever made two of them alike.

As you probably know, the Shield is ALWAYS wrapped around the Audio wire no matter what color the Audio wire may be.

Try this with your Diesel. Diesel uses different combinations and wire colors.

1- Shield
2- Audio

Now after you have these two soldered in place, it's going to be all trial and error from here.

If you don't have a mic tester, plug the mic into the radio and hold/tape the mic key button in.

Now, one at a time, take each remaining wire and touch the (pin #1) shield. The wire that keys the radio will go on pin #3 since #3 is the transmit pin.

If memory serves me correctly, the North Star has a opened receive, which means that you have audio-receive whether a mic is pluged in or not. And if that's the case, you don't have to worry about Pin #4.

If this doesn't work, E-mail me. I have a couple of other ideas for you to try.

Jeff, kc0gxz.

red, white, black, shield, blue please help as my golden eagle is getting trashed in the car Joe
