I was wondering what can I use for a driver for my Texas Star 400 HDV? |

Any radio that has about 20-30 watts output will work, the 2950dx,magnum 257,delta force,etc..They will all drive that amp to full power without alot of distortion |

Thanks for the input, because somebody told me I could run up to a 75 watt modulator into that box and make it do more wattage. My galaxy 44 does between 25 to 30 now and it does great I didn't want to do anything to it to mess what I have now. |

Someone from X-force probably told you that, then, when your texas star smokes, they tell you to get an X-force!!!! No, seriously. |

You could use a small driver of 70w peak or so into that amp, but, it's very critical of your settings. The driver must be adjusted to have a 2w output carrier FROM THE DRIVER. The variable on the 400 amp must be fully clockwise and 400 in highest power position. The final result should be 100w carrier out of the 400 and 525 peak. The clincher is you spent $ on a 75w driver to achieve 100 more watts and more stress on the 400 that no one will really notice in a 30mi range as far as signal. |
