ham and cb ,when testing ,buy putting my amp on hi ,needle gos forward,to 800,then drops backwards,quickley to about 650,on medium it deadkeys 575,swings to 800,on low swings to 600,he said its starving for juice,the 8 ga,is to small,,,the other ham guy,says it deadkeys the same and swings to 1200 on hi,when he wistles,and has plenty of juice,so whats up?also one just installed,a ,,modulation kit,said it would keep more power in radio?

just my 2 cents but if you are dead keying 575 watts i would have 4ga for that size amp

If it says super talk on the kit package it's worthless,just a gimmick for a tech to get more of your money.

Bigbob is right. Save your money. And if your Cobra was set up correctly, you should have well over 100% modulation anyways.
