The "new" Palomars have been having some problems. What are you looking for in an amp? Wattage? AM or SSB as well?

I would be very leary on buying any amp on E-Bay.

You can buy on e-bay as long as you check the feedback, and e-mail the seller with questions about the amp. I have bought several on e-bay, never got burnt. Like they say, let the buyer beware! Usually you save enough to get something minor fixed if it is wrong anyway. Besides with older tube amps, you gotta figure the tubes wont be 100 percent.

CORRECTION: The seller has 7 buys all for his truck and car minus a v-tec phone. He never has sold though. But no negatives.
Sorry in my first look I checked the high bidder.

electronjohn, yours probably smoked from too much drive {input from radio}these amps should have no more than about 5 watts am to 15 watts SSB to drive the amp otherwise you get smoke and lots of damage in a short time.

You want to make an expensive hot plate just over drive an amp, yeah you can cook eggs on 'em,but only a couple times then they don't heat up no more, phooey, get mine from the hardware lot's cheaper and last longer.
