Recently I posted a rather tasteless statement in the legal section,I apologize, but between 1963 and 1969 my town lost 28 citisens to the viet-cong,in 1963 our new athletic field was comemorated Boswell field in memory of a marine captain by that name.40 years later it is known only as the old athletic field,it is run down and the bronze plaque is moss covered,it's a travesty,in that aforementioned time period 30 men went to war 2 returned my brother was one,the others are all but forgotten, soon no one will be left to remember them.Bigbob |

Bob the loss of brave men and women in Iraq may just be enough for thoes who didn't live through the Vietnam war to relize that as long as americans crave freedom and wish to see all men free we will give our best and our young to that cause. Maby you need to get your local paper intrested and put the leaders on notice that these men should not be forgoten .... and you'll hound them untill they get THAT done. |

Bigbob I have a ideal ? I doint know how bad this athletic field is. If it needs some tender loving care, Ask the local Boy Scouts or Cub Scouts and Girl Scout organization to contribute some help. Iv seen thease kids in action, and they done wonders to old cemeterys and such. Just a thought. As far as forgotten, no way- Arlingtion Cemtery and the unknown soldier and the Vietnam war wall---- also the war now. Take care Bigbob |

Bigbob, go to the media. Bad press get's attention, especially when the history is what you say. Plaster it on the airwaves. Be vocal about "how can the city council allow this?" Ooops, just got politicians on the hot seat and the media snowball swells. Casually mention "elections" and "lack of support for our veterans" in the same sentence. Do you have a Fleet Reserve Association, VFW or American Legion around within calling distance? Tell your story. Make the Thunder roll Bigbob. Alsworld |
