Well I logged onto my email account and found a message telling me that the ISP had held a suspect message in quarrantine. I switched to that directory and read the suspect message. Yep it was from the moderator telling me of the frequency change for the 10m net. Some how the ISP had it flagged as porn. Bruces correction made it to my email account tho. |

OZZIE, I apologize, It was not porn when I sent it out. But the 1st Sargant had a picture of Karatebutcher & her Great Grandmother from 1917 on our computer and it might have attached it's self to the message, and your computer was probably scared to accept the message. I know when I get e-mails from KB our computer ask's us about 15 time's if we really want to read it. 1st Sargant say's she remember's it was KB who stole all of her dolls when she was little, and all of her Great Grandmother's clothes off the clothes line. You and your's have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Lon Tech808 Shirley 1st Sargant PS, I made a mistake on the Frequency in the first Note I sent to you so make sure you read the note I sent last night. |

That's probably why theres only 3 viruses not because they're so hard to crack but nobody cares to,the hackers go after the majority, thus windows,I'm not putting you down taz,I had an olds hotrod it was the fastest and most powerful in the county, but it cost me 5 times as much as a chevy or ford to make it that way only one other and it was a stock 4-4-2,everyone else ran fords and chevys because you could juice one up for pennies. My bro-in-law is the only guy I know that runs IBM,all others run h-p,compac,gateway and dell,Linux what the heck is that, its an oldsmobile very nice luxury car,but far to costly for the average comp.dunce to turn into a hotrod. From what I've read you're a hotshot with computers,I'm not so I have to keep it simple. And bruce your attachments you send to my e-mail has a warning that it is unsafe, from norton, from incredimail and our ISP,an msn freind of my wifes was sending attachments that were getting flagged the same way, then his comp crashed had a worm, got a new one and an anti-virus,he's back on line, you aint puttin nudy girls on them are you,my wifes got the security on high for that stuff.Bigbob |

No. Without linux this copper server wouldnt work considering its hosted BY APACHE ON LINUX! But I know this means that Copper is not inferior. Linux is the elite operating system of the modern world. |

When I put my T-bird system back together I want to try Linux. I'll be using it mostly for SSTV, PSK, some packet and Logging programs for radio stuff. What would you suggest for a free or cheap OS that is easy to configure everything like the vid, sound card and stuff, Taz? |

That's just what I been saying,99% of us can afford windows, barely, the other 1% gets much better performing rigs,I would luv to get a general coverage tran/ciever,but I can't afford it,used is out of the question,so a dx2517 is what I got.If you got the dough buy the best you can.Bigbob |

Znut, I have both Suse 6.4(6 CDs) and Redhat 7.0 (3 CDs). Suse comes with a whole heap og Ham software. If your interested I'll maker copies of either/both for you. Oh yes both have pretty extensive help with installation and the manuals on the CDs. Question how did the handle znut come about?? (Son-in-law a Datsun Z car lover queried).

Great Ozzie. The handle? Started off as coupling nut because I make coax cable assemblies but my fellow CB'ers around here just shortened it to Z-nut (not C-nut for sme reason) and that's it. I will email you about the Linux. Tks |

Bruce,I found the problem,my ISP changed their equipment and it was flagging everybodies e-mail attachments, they said they had everything turned up to high,it was actually ripping out the attachments of incoming and out going e-mail,bummer,but I wanted to tell you it was not your computer.I hope I didn't cause any problems, sincerely,Bigbob. |

bigbob ill forgive you this time ( LOL ) I been blasted so many times i resorted to 2 walls before the virus checker so not that i could not happened but it wasn't likely. zone alert has a free trial version fire wall which works well ...... if you dont have one i recomend it. |
