Has anybody ever heard of or used Code Quick to learn code? I just found it at www.cq2k.com. It sounds to good to be true. Any other ideas how to go about learning code? I only have about 3 months to do it. Thanks for any help.

Just bought it a month or so ago. Very good program, but I have not given it the full attention it deserves (sounds like a woman?). Seriously, it's a great program. I have the ARRL tapes, and they didn't click for me. I was even listening to them on the way to work.

CODE QUICK uses a unique word association and the sounds to help remember the code, not the dots and dashes.

Like "DOG DID IT" for D

Really good system goes by recognition. Like :
DOG DID IT = D which is dah dit dit ..- make sense?
I used it helped some with the d, the L = the light is lite .-..
Nothing beats just listening to the tapes I used gordon wests so cant say about arrl code tapes. The arrl test seemed faster on the code test to me something about character speed between arrl and w5yi tests.
The way I learned was with a friend we studied for a week listening everyday then the day of the test passed with flying colors was really funny to be able to answer all the questions!

Also check out the MFJ-418 Morse Code Tutor. It has a LCD display and can generate random groups of letters and numbers. You tend to memorize code tapes the more you practice with them. The MFJ-418 is smaller than a pack of cigarettes. Cost is $80.00, which puts it well above code tapes, but you will never be able to memorize it's practice sessions!

Also very handy for preparing for the test after having learned the code via Code Quick or some other tape method. The word association method is very helpfull.
