Steve, Read somewhere that these boxes dont have the greatest filtering. It would be very wise to have it well grounded and have a high quality low pass filter inline before running it. Keep it on the low side to preserve those expensive tubes. Good Luck with your new toy! |

Xlaxx, Thanks! What i really like is those old D&A Phantom's with the 6LQ6 sweep tubes all a'glow. There is just something about them that fastinates me. But nowaday's these tubes are in short supply and getting very expensive to obtain. Bummer! Well, that's progress i suppose. Merry Christmas to you & everyone at the copper forum. Hope Santa put's a radio goodie under everyone's tree!! |

I used to buy those for the tubes and use the amp for a trotline anchor not that they were bad amps but could make more pulling the tubes for resale. Some said D&A on them some just phantom. |

Heck i had a phantom once.. great old amp but you are right Crafter, the tubes are worth more than the amp!! Its better to buy a lo drive KLV and drive it with 3 watts or better yet get a big radio like a 2995 and drive it into a 1000P or even better yet, get a 3-500Z amp and be a big dawg! ;-) |
