I just love to get on here and read the new posts every evening, espessially the legal and political ones (juicy),but when the holidays roll around people go off to their families and posts get scarce and I get so bored.I would that I had more time I would volunteer to be a moderator, man you guys get to read everything then approve or disapprove,I realize it gets very tedious at times because of the sheer volume of the posts. One question, have any of you ever accidently missed a scheduled night of moderating,I mean can you be fired for mistakes, that's the reason I've not volunteered, when I'm on vacation I'm on call, ten years ago my boss had to have the state police contact me to phone him some information,I just never know when I'll have free time, bummer,I really hope I'll live long enough to retire and truly hope this forum will still be here, then you may get moderator759 hows that grab ya,I'm just rammbling don't know where to go,read all the new stuff, posted a couple, one may be rejected ,but it's close to the edge anyway,oh well, time to leave my life for the night.Bigbob

I know what ya mean, Bigbob. I have the same problem. Being a single father of 2 girls you would think I would have enough to do. But while they are in school, what do you think I'm doing? Yup, I'm on here reading all the posts. Some are educational and some are down right funny. So, you're not the only one who doesn't have a life. I live here. :)

Bigbob,

Well it is like this.

We do not have scheduled Days or Night's.

All of the Techs and Moderator's Donate their time to help when and where they can when time allows.

As for me I generally spend from 8 to 12 hours a day checking into the forum and reading and approving post's and writing answer's.

I was a Forum Member well before joining as a Tech, since Aug 7th, 2002, I have missed three days. Heart attack and surgery next day and back home and visit to Copper took one day & night.

As for being fired, yes if we mess up.

But I like you enjoy reading all the post's that come in as there is NO WAY i could go thru and search every area of the Forum for comment's or question's.

If I read a post before posting it, I write it down so I can go back later and post or answer it.

Many times I get up at 5am and still see the Forummaster on line and at 2 or 3 am the next morning as he is still on line working.

With between 100 and 125 plus posts a day it would take forever to try and read them all.

Happy Holidays!

Lon
