I need to thank you all on the CEF net. I went out to talk in my mobile to try to make some contacts this Sunday afternoon. I warned my wife for about 3 or 4 days that I was going to do this at 12 noon Sunday.
When the day comes she says "where are you going?" I said to talk on the Copper Net. She said "you are going to have fun outside?" I said, "yup, I have been telling you about this for days." "She says "for how long?" I said "Depends on the conditions and how the skip is rolling" So out I go.
Later my wife says, "why don't you just hook up one of your other radios in the house so that you can stay inside with us?"
Now I have been asking her for a year now to hook my 93T up in my computer office and mount a antenna someplace even up a tree so that I can stay inside and talk and she finally brings it up as if it where her idea lol...
It may be a few months or even years but I am finally over my biggest obstacle of getting a set up in my home and I need to thank you all for helping me.
Hope to hear you out there again in the future.
BTW how long into the day does the net go? Is it until a certain time?
I ask as we have dinner at my parent's some Sunday afternoons and their home is higher up on the side of a mountain so I want to try to talk from there but it may not be until later in the afternoon.
Thanks again.
Chris

Chris,
Generally there is someone listening "most" of the afternoon. Some members are at church, some work, have other plans, sleep in etc... I have made contacts as late as 4 or 5pm Central. As you told the wife, it all depends on the conditions. Take her offer and run with it! Just because the NET only runs for an hour doesn't mean that members aren't still listening in...

Chris, get while the getting is good. Get an Imax and some good coax and a 20 amp power supply and put that mobile to work in the house ASAP. And yes, get her involved.

True I dont get off work till 3:15 PST. I'm usually there after that. Funny how that happens though now my wife wants the cobra 2000 in the living room so I'm not in my radio room.
Karate I got one in the garage too, set on a antenna switch thinking about buying another antron just for it.

Yes Crafter you are right but you should see my back yard, 2 feet over night and 4 Oak trees down, and around 12 large broken branches off other trees, looks like my yard was bombed.

Geeeeeeeeee it is so nice to see that the Women on the Forum and the Women CEF Member's are sooooooooooooooo Welcome.

I guess I was Lucky to meet and marry Lon instead of some Narrow Minded CBer out ther in radio land.

And hey, I am not biased I even let Lon use my Radio & Amp for the net's, (When he asks NICELY).

Oh, My Napkin is Folded and my Pinkie is raised!

And if he ever folds his napkin or raises his pinky I will smack him between the eyes with a Ball Bat and knock some sense back into him.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to EVERYONE!
