Is'nt the 1306 a cross match to a 2166, Radio dude what are you putting finals in? You can put a 2312 in also for a 1969 but with little gain.

Well not sure that those are the problem. I was given a Cheetah 23ch radio. I hooked a mic up to it and I can key it up but have no modulation. So i figure it is the finals!!

Does anyone else have an other ideas?

Uniden used the 2SC1306 driver/ 2SC1307 final in their SSB CB radios until about 1979 or so. First they changed to the 2SC1969 for the final, and used the 2SC1306 driver. The same transistor they use as a driver was used as the final in their AM-only radios.

By 1980 or so they had dropped the 2SC1306 completetely and have used the 2SC2166 as the driver in SSB radios. Galaxy/Connex/Superstar radios use that one as a driver, also.

The 2SC1307 was discontinued years ago. If you find one these days, it's probably either counterfeit, or a 2SC1969 with the number scraped off, and "2SC1307" painted onto it. If you really DID need a final, the 1969 is the closest equivalent.

If you have a carrier when you key the radio, the final ISN'T the problem. If you HAVE good audio from the receiver, suspect the mike, not the radio itself. The same audio amp that runs the receiver speaker is used for AM modulation, so if that were the culprit, you would NOT have receiver audio.

I think you are right ! The radio has a relay in it so I bet that it is the mike not keying the relay

Thanks for the info
