Good morning everybody. A little survey here. I am starting to see more forum members list LSB for Channel 15 on CB bands as a place they monitor. It seems to be more and more. As a result, I have started to listen to this channel more and more. Are more and more SSB folks starting to use this channel for their SSB conversations so there will not be as many pile ups on LSB 38? Keith in Atlanta

Illegall illschmegall whopteedooodah.... Anyways whats the deal with using an AM channel to talk SSB? That channel is smack in the middle of the AM channels... Interference would be impossible to get away from! |

27.425 is not a channel. It is a frequency. |

How about using Upper Sideband (USB). The locals here escape to USB-37 or USB-38, etc when LSB gets junked out. |

Mr Rf, I do that very same thing. People around here are always wanting to go to the frequencies above channel 40 when conditions get rough. I never could figure out why everone on 11 meters has been so stuck on using the lower side of the frequency all the time. There is a whole other upper side that's not being used. That's what it's there for, why not use it? It just makes more sence to me to just turn the little mode switch from LSB to USB rather than turning a VFO knob or channel selector and various toggle switches. To each his own I guess. |

Stickshift, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I have always wondered WHY folks don't want to use USB. I would love to spend time on usb, especially when the pile ups start, or when that guy that gets on there cussing like crazy, starts up with his junk. It is sssssssooooooooo easy to flip the switch to the upper side. Keith in Atlanta |
