The transistors ARE 15 amp units but at 10 volts, but they are 150 watts regardless of voltage,at 28 volts they dissipate 5 amps so 5x5 is 25 amps my problem all along. The input voltage is 32,in operation it drops to 28 and stays their, but output voltage was also dropping 4 volts, why, because the trans.were only putting out 5 amps, each, too low,so I added 4 more for a total of 9 pass transistors which equal 45 amps, now the p.s.never drops more than 1/2 volt on output and input is still 28 volts, plenty. The amp now, with a dead key of 2 watts gives me 92 watts and swings to 236 watts, ssb it gives me a solid avg.of 447 watts, the peaks go way over 600,outstanding,when in doubt go back to the instructions, never fails.Bigbob |
