What do you use on a trace to clean excess flux off a trace so you can solder to it?

Leave the flux on until you are done soldering. Then use a q-tip with rubbing alchohol to clean the area of the board you desire to. If you can find some "Flux-Off" flux remover or something comparable that's way better. That's what I use (I can get it here at work.)

You can buy a flux remover but all I've ever done is to LIGHTLY scrap it with a razor balde.
