Calvin,

The rotor you have now will work great for the SE White Lightning.

You should have no Problem's.

Also a SE White Lightning owner

I Just Put A Se White lightning up about a month ago and used a radio shack rotor. It turns with no Problem. The White lighting beam is the thing i am dissapointed in. It Is so Cheaply made its pathetic and its a pain in the a@# To put together. And Some of the parts were not even cut or reemed out right.

Just my 2 cents

It wasn't hard to put together, but it was a pain in the neck. The reason is there are many screws and brackets that go together which make up each quad element. Following the directions ( including assembly on a flat surface, because you WILL drop screws) took me 3 days to complete mine. But once it is together, it is quite amazing. I don't agree with COBRA about the cheapness, but that is only MY opinion and you will probably get many of those.

It's the performance that counts for me. Check the DX topic section in the Forum.

Depends on what the Brand name of the rotor is, what the "change all the hardware" means, and what the load capacity of the rotor is. If you are changing/increasing antenna wind load, you may want to ensure the old rotor is still big enough. If you are just going to take it down, and clean the interior, look for gear wear inside the rotor.

My Yaesu 800DX rotor is alluminum mast clamps and has a baked on finish.
