The other day i went to the folkses to check on a few things and noticed the wire on the backside of my moonraker 4 was broke off the top verticle fiberglass element. I figured the wind and ice and snow did the trick. I checked my swrs and was suprised to find that the verticle side was lower than it usually is (its usually a 1.3 to a 1.4-1 all 40) and the horizontal side went up. No real biggie but what id like to know is would it be possible to leave the wires off and remove the fiberglass elements and convert the back side to using regular alumnium elements? I know Jo gunn has a 4x4 cross that looks like a moonraker and it uses aluminum elements for the backside. It would be like making a dual polarity yagi in a sense. I just get tired of fixing wires whenever it snows or gets coated with freezing rain...
