well, it has finally happened. the last 2 steady contacts i had in this used to be c.b. enriched area have moved away. this place used to boom c.b. 3 counties wide and now i am the last. kinda makin it hard to justify new equipment, repair on the old and innovation up here. have been on for 3 days straight and have not heard a soul. would like to be on cef net but work put the keebaaash to that with having to be on every sunday. i am wondering if many people are in the same predicament. have been thinkin bout boxin equipment up and storing it till the next generation showsup. till that one kid see's a tower and stops to ask what goes on it. i never really thought this would happen here, figured cb would last here like the sun coming up every day but at last i have been proved wrong. well take care all and when i get some free time i will be on being this is about the only cb outlet i have left. 123 up michigan cef179

123,

It could be worse. Where I live there are too many people on the air at one time. Mostly the splatter boxes and weirdos that you wouldn't want to talk to any way. If you want to, let's set up a day and time and see if we could make contact.

Man, id like to get a few of the older guys here were I live that had CB radios "back in the day" up and going again just to have a few other people to talk to as well! Some of the guys still have antennas up but their radios are either packe away or they sold them. In the town I live in CB radio was HUUGE up until like only 15 years ago and now its like theres only a couple of us.

No Locals to talk to here either, even 19 is dead most of the day here. I usually monitor 28AM for skip. I see a lot of cb antennas on cars, cant find them on the bands, though.

I'm beginning to sound like a walking advertisement for COPPER, but that's one of the great things about the COPPER FORUM. It affords us the opportunity to connect with people and it DOES make a difference when you talk on the radio to someone you have already connected with on the FORUM.

On the local side, I have one potential guy that appears to be in the mood for local chatter like me. He lives within 5 miles.

123...ever consider ham radio? I live in the lower (near Saginaw) and I know you're just too far from me to connect with on 11 meter. I think on the west side of the State there is a ljnk from the Upper to the lower half of Indiana via 2 meter repeater. But even here, where it boomed once has let up some...but there are still users (some of them seasoned veterans).
