Is there something in the drinking water over there? There seems to be more than a few (4 or more)from the same area? Sneak up to channel 38 and give me a call sometime. Incidentally, what is an OTTUMWA?? |

Hi Ca346 A bunch of nice girls and guys from Ottumwa. As far as your question (what is an Ottumwa??) It is the drinking water so to speak. The indians that settled in this area, Sax and fox tribe there Chief, was named Wappello. He named the settlement "Ottumwa" which means "rippling waters" Our county is named after chief Wappello. The great flood of 1993 made you think rippling waters. I did my share of sandbagging that year.Jim Nice qso last week on the net hope its just as good this week. Hal |

Don't forget, the infamous Radar O'Riley on the tv show M*A*S*H was from Ottumwa, Iowa. Some of the best and most friendly people you will ever meet lives here. I don't think my little radio will make it to California and my 1500W ham linear only will go down to 15 Meters. ONE of those nice Ottumwa people. Unit199-Harve-CEF210 |
