Anyone know where i can get the mod to unlock the clarifier for the cobra 148 nw st? |

This mod came from Copper's forum and was submitted by KC7QPD
I did it to a 148 GTL-ST and it worked. if you use the original clarifier pot, it slides almost 10 kcs in either direction.

just doing the clarifier, have not done channel mod, but be aware, the 148 NWST has two red wires
and one black on the clarifier control, this is a china built radio, so heres what I did,
1: cut the black wire at the plug on the main board, and extend it, then solder it to pin 3, of IC-4, its a (KIA 7809P) 9 volt regulator, yes 9 volts. Use your volt meter to make sure you have the right leg!!!
2:Now cut the outer red wire from the same plug,
Extend it and run it to ground, this leaves the middle red wire untouched!!!!
3: cut D52,R44 and take R174 out, and put a wire
jumper in its place.
4: You will have to retune,
