The Stock Color Code for the Astatic 636L Mic is:

WHITE = AUDIO
SHIELD = GROUND
RED = TRANSMIT
BLACK = RECEIVE
BLUE = COMMON
YELLOW = AUDIO Sw (Not used a lot of times)

Hope this helps.

Timberwolf, if the mic is 4 wire, then it will not wire up to the Grant. You can do 1 of 2 things, you could replace the 5 pin socket with a 4 pin socket and rewire the inside of the radio, don't remember the precedure for this mod right off hand, or you can go the easy route, buy the 4 pin to 5 pin adaptor form Copper.

This the noise reducing mike. A friend gave me one. I'm trying to to get it to work on a President Lincoln. I cut wires 4 and 5 but it doesn't do a think. 4 and 5 control up and down. What else should I do?

mikefromms,

Wiring for your Lincoln to the Astatic 636L should be:

PIN #1 ~ WHITE
PIN #2 ~ SHIELD & BLUE
PIN #3 ~ BLACK
PIN #4 ~ N/C
PIN #5 ~ N/C
YELLOW N/C

Hope this helps.

Makes sense to me. I'll double check pins 1,2,3, and see if anything is backward here. I'd really like to use this mike in the mobile.

Thanks a lot for all your help.
