I'm posting here because of the greater number of eyes that scan here,is it possible that the I-max 2000 would get out better in hilly terrain to,say,100 miles than a pdl-2 or a white lightning and have better ears,my dad-in-laws station with super scanner hears me like I'm in his driveway,I hear him with my pdl-2 like he's 90 miles away and he is,he has a 142-gtl and it registers 5 s-units my dx2517 registers 3 s-units on him he's using a klv-550 and I use a boomer400,I was just wondering if I chose the wrong antenna to upgrade, the pdl-2 is better than the a-99 that I had,but what of the I-max,Tech808 I greatly value your practical experience and yours also Bruce, please chime in if you would,I'm perplexed as I've read many claim better performance with the I-max over their old beams. My output is perfect I NEED BETTER EARS,that's why I got the white lightning, but hilly usually means stick antenna for best reception

Bigbob,

Well the best man to answer this would be Tech833.

But actually the experience I have is we have one gentleman in town who is on Other side of an Interstate Bridge Over pass. Since he got his Imax 2000 his signal is always 3 or 4 s-Unit's higher than his beams and we hear him Great.

Corn Cob CEF#166 also uses an Imax 2000 and helps me on the Sunday CEF Nets as he hears a lot that I miss with just my beams and that allows me to zero in on contacts. (He is less than 1/4 mile away)

And everyone I talk to with the Beams he also talks to from the Imax 2000.

We also do a lot off talking with people 25 to 40 miles away every night and both setups work.

I am Letting Redman CEF #156 use my Anttron 305 so all I have now is the Beams until I get the New antenna from Tech833 to try and use.

Hope this helps some.

Yote,

The last time I checked Ken (Owner of Anttron) still did not have the Anttron 305 in Production as yet.

He has been closed for inventory last week but I will check later today and get an update.
