I remember jc whitney use to sell these cb antennas for mobiles that use to light up but i dont see them in there book anymore.anyone know where i can find them? |

Hey freebird check at your local truck stop.
The truck stop by me they do not stock them but they can order them if I wanted .
But I heard they do not talk that good only for the looks kinda neat though.
I have also seen the red white and blue ones on some of the garage sale sights on the computer if you know what I mean!

They look neat but be aware that they are illegal and if the cops are real sticklers they will make you take them off. I used to have a set but they made me take them off. The only color that is legal to run is amber.....Who wants to have amber antennas???

I read a post on another forum where they told you how to make your own with an L.E.D. light and some shrink wrap plastic. |

i am not sure but i think that changes from state to state.. i live in rhode island an you can have any color except for blue or red...

Radio shack did carry the antennas that light up. I think they would be neat but seem's like your radio would lose power tring to light up the light. If you know what I mean. |

Well those are the only colors that I have seen them in. Blue, Red, and amber. The blue and red are for emergency personel. I had the blue ones and at the time, I was on the fire department and had a permit for emergency lights on my truck. The only problem was that the antennas were on all the time and could not be legally used except for when responding to emergencies. I just ended up taking them off and putting on a whip. Those antennas were bought from copper back in the day

Normally the only light that can show from the rear of your car is red, and from the front clear or amber, so to be legal, it would have to show one color in back, and another in front. |

What a perfect waste of 4 watts of RF. The RF power you need to get out gets wasted with that little light, waste of RF & $$$$$. And as stated earlier, the wrong pig pulls you over, you're gonna be taking them off! |

here in Ky you can have any color you want, except you cannot have Blue Flashing lights!!
I have a buddy who's a cop. We asked him about lights and stuff...though theres no law against most colors, strobes, and lights are just an advertisement...they can hassle you about them if they feel like.
