I just bought a XM radio last week, man have I been missing out! It is great! No more fumbling with the tunning knob on a am/fm trying to find that good music station.
Is copper going to try to carry these radio's? Might be a good investment for them and also the accesories to.
The thing that sold me on them since I am a truck driver, they now have several channels for traffic and weather updates for several major cities across the great ole USA!
Oh man this is almost as great as having a CB!
Well gotta run, Catch you all later.

Those XM radio's are interesting. I have yet to get one but where I work, we make the magnet mount antenna that General Motors has been buying up for some of their newer vehicles that have XM radio is already installed. Kind of a goofy ping pong paddle shaped antenna with the magnet mount on the bottom. Does XM radio have like a service that you pay a monthly bill?

Hey all, here is a little update, man I don't see how anybody could ever do with out this radio, IF you like to listen to the radio.
I have not had my CB on for more than I bet 15 min. TOPS last week after I installed the XM RADIO!
I left Jamestown,NC. Monday morning Listining to Dave Nemo on the open road channel, it was broadcasted from Nashville,TN. I listened to the whole program, then the Sattelite Cowboy (Bill Mack) came on broadcasting from (Dallas Tx I think) I know it is in TX for sure, listened to the whole program, Then Trucking Bozo Came on broadcasting out of Cincinattii,OH. listened to almost all of it but by this time I was returned to the terminal, and went home ( Only reason I did not finish this program out)
My next purchase for this will be another car kit, so when I come off the road, I can just take the reciever out of my truck and stick it in the car, then I will purchase the (Boom Box) next for the house!
100 CLEAR channel stations! Man it is awsome!
MTV, VH1, Nashville,Cmt, Cnn, Fox, The weather channel, then it also has a bunch of channels with different Major cities with traffic and weather for that particular city.
Espn, NASCAR, etc. just about anything you want, IF copper could get ahold of this and sell it, it would probably make a buch of profit to them!
Just my thoughts.
Stay Safe!

Hornet168ky,

THE VERY MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION IS:

ARE YOU ABLE TO PICK UP " MANCOW "?

I really don't know Tech 808 I know mancow was on there, but I have not listened to it yet if it is still on there, the comedy XL, Laugh USA, Bone yard, VH1, Mtv, Bluegrass Junction, and Open Road, are all I listen to so far.

I like Kevin Mathews better, but Mancow is pretty entertaining. But my favorite Chicago radio show is Roe and Gary on WLS.

Mr Happy, yeah, I hope they can still work something out with WLS, but for now its just Roe. Jim Johnson has done a great job, but he's not Gary, that's for sure. I just hope that if they end up on another station, it will be one I can receive down here in Champaign. I can get WGN pretty well down here, but not like the "50,000 watt MOFO", as Gary likes to call WLS!

Lon, I'll try to be on Saturday around that time. I only have a temporary setup out at our cabin near St Joseph, IL (about 10 miles East of Urbana), but we might make it if there isn't too much skip noise. I will also be monitoring our 146.760 machine, which is located pretty close to the intersection of I74 and I57.

Btw, I met Mancow once when I was working for Harrah's Casino in Joliet--He was doing a remote from the sports bar--He was a real rectal orifice, if you get my meaning, not a pleasant man at all.

Ryan, you've lost me, on this one. I have set and thought about this post long and hard.
But I still don't get what you mean by clearchannel radio? Are you meaning that this is something that does not have paid advertisements?
And that it is already been paid for?
Because like I said in an earlier post that 100 clear channels, yes I have listened to some of the clear channel stations, BUT my main reason to get it was for the Open Road channel, which in fact is NOT a clear channel station, they have paid advertisements on them, another reason is that you can listen to all three broadcast 24 hours a day now, I would not trade mine for a million bucks.
