i heard somewhere beldon 9913 coax is not recomended for use with the solarcon A99..i now have a imax2000 and was wondering if i should try it..i always heard this coax was a very good one ,why would it not work well with this paticular antenna....

Boy I have NEVER heard that one before.

As Bruce says COAX IS COAX and your Antenna cannont tell weather it is 9913 or RG 213 or 213/U or Mini 8 as long as it is rated for the Power you will be useing.

Thats odd......... I run 9913 and have NO problems at all.. Wonder why they said that?

I wonder if he may be talking Solarcon commercial antennas? They build them up to 6 Ghz and the 9913 might not perform as well that high in the UHF frequency?

i think it was on another forum along time ago when i had a A99 that i saw it,,a fellow on another forum also told me it had something to do with getting water in the coax,,the way a a99 is set up at the base and the air in the 9913 coax has something to do with it..HK esq.

If your connectors are properly installed and sealed you will not get water in air-core coax.

Just be careful not to obstruct the weep hole in the base of the A-99.
