when i bought my two 2950's in 1995 i was told they didnt hold up well as a mobile, but worked fine as a base. thats how i have been using them since then. awhile back i `put 1 in my toyota and liked it fine but it only lasted about 1 or 2 days and started cutting out every time i hit a bump. eventually it got so bad i couldnt even use it as a base anymore. it lites up, the tx box shows when i key it but theres no recieve or transmit. so now i wonder will the new 2950's hold up in a rough riding toyota 4x4 any better or should i give up on having a ranger in a toyota? aj

Applejack

I've had my 2950 since 1990 and ran it 98% of the time in my old F-150(1988)I never had a problem with it.I did have a bracket made for it that was screwed to the floor. It's taken the cold and the heat.

Take care!Gage

I have one for a base. Love the radio. No idea about it holding up in the car or truck. But a good friend has the 2950 and has no problems.
