Well I have to laugh, or I would if it wasnt so frustrating. I buy a lot of parts for restoring an MG from EBay or I did until this week. Now I find I am banned from there for "not sending payment on an Item I did not bid on".

It seems that their system is guilty until you prove yourself innocent. So how on earth do you prove you did not bid on something the seller insists you did??

Is your user name on that particular auction?
If you did not bid on this item then you will need to get ahold of safeharbor by e-mail and have them to investigate it, if it is your user name on the auction and you did not buy it or bid on it then someone has stolen your identity, and you need to get ahold of safeharbor, and thus they will investigate it.
Did E-bay ban you? Or is it you just can't go to a particular auction?
Because Sellers have the right to prevent you from bidding or buying they have to list your name in a no bid box it is in that particular persons preferances, but this does not ban you from ebay.
But if Ebay sent you an e-mail, that you were banned then you will need to contact safeharbor, it may just be a temporary thing, non-paying violations you get three warning usually before they completely ban you for good.

Ozzie,
What year and model MG do you have? I'm working on a 1971 B/GT now. I've had several MG's and the pride picture I have is of my wife and me in a Austin Healy Bug Eye Sprite that I owned breifly. British cars live forever.

Identity theft? naw,ya think,I owe 1400 on a credit card I've never seen,and 1200 for a psyc.exam I've never had according to my credit report and payments are 3 years in arrears,believe it identity theft is real and the only way I can lower my mortgage payment is first take a cashout and pay these bills,you see the new mortgage company doesn't believe me either,and clearing my credit report would take more time and money than I have,if I knew who did this to me he'd rue the day he was born.Bigbob

Thanks, I'll contact safeharbour and see what happens. Yes Ive spent the last week emailling Ebay daily trying to get this sorted out. There responce See the list of evidence we will accept.

Parts-man I am restoring a 72 CB roadster and building a 69 GT ( got as a parts car - not rebuildable) to use as a Ministock on the local speedway. After I finish the roadster I want to find a matching GT.

Something is strange because EBAY does not ban users for 1 isolated nonpaying bidder complaint. banning only happens after 3 or more incidents.

Watch your stuff, I got a e-mail when I really looked at it, it was a scam to get my credit card number. Said I needed to re-register, bull-larky.
It was really convincing too except for the very end of the address was in to semoas or somewhere, some island.

Thats the problem I have two past incedences , which I reported that they are counting against me. One where I mailed a MO to the seller, it was cashed and I never received the goods- seller denies receiving the MO, the second one where I could not even get a mailing address from the seller. Both over 12 months old.

When you receive such e-mails from "ebay" supposedly you need to forward them to safeharbor, they will investigate them.
You can go to live help on ebays home page and they will give you the exact link you will need, to find this.

i always wondered.....with the size of ebay,,,,and the $$$ it generates,,,,,could they maybe get a phone so you can contact someone in real time....when you are under the pressure of a scam,,,fraud or the like the last thing i need to do is send more emails,,,i need a human....
and equally frustrating is when the email the send back provides a link to their web page and their FAQ's about the problem...
oooh,,,and it makes me wonder

Ozzie, do you by any chance have a copy of the money order, because you can file a NON SELLER complaint, and if you had "proof" of the MO then they will remove this from your record, but you need to get in touch with safeharbor, about this.
But I don't know how long ebay keeps these records it might have been to long ago.
Sorry I can help with the other one, but if it were me then I would get in touch with safeharbor about the MO one, because if you have "proof" of payment then they have to remove that from your record.

Since Ebay is so large then can you imagine how many PHONE calls they would recieve in just a couple of hours?
The FAQ's are put on there because 90% of the time they have already delt with the situation SO many times, it is easier to just go and look it up yourself.
But if you still have trouble then you can just go to LIVE help on the HOME page.
Just my 2 cents tho.

The item you sell would have to be worth enough money to justify safe harbor. You have to pay 20.00 to get a safe harbor mediator, otherwise all safe harbor does is send the other party 4 e-mails, it is voluntary, if they dont answer e-bay nothing happens.

Email your trading partner and try and settle the dispute. You can email your trading partner by going to the appropriate section of My eBay and clicking on their User ID.
Request the other member's contact information and give them a phone call. eBay encourages open and honest communication, and many issues can be resolved by simply talking to each other.
Contact your shipping carrier if your item is lost or damaged.
If your issue is still not resolved, eBay recommends using an online dispute resolution service, such as SquareTrade.
You can file an online complaint with SquareTrade free of charge. After you have filed a complaint, SquareTrade will contact your trading partner and encourage this person to respond to your case. Once your trading partner has responded, you can work to resolve your dispute through SquareTrade's Online Dispute Resolution Service. This is not a SafeHarbor mediator, it is an online mediator thru SquareTrade.

If you never received an item you paid for and are not able to settle the dispute with the seller, eBay's standard purchase protection can provide you with partial or even total reimbursement.
If you paid for an item with a credit card and you never received it, contact the credit card company about using their protection services. Most credit card issuers provide 100% online protection.

Ebay offers buyer protection on all there auctions, YOU have to provide proof of payment, but like I said it might have been to long ago to do anything about it.
I do not know how long you can go with out making a complaint.
