I have a Davemade SE400 (2 driving 4) driven by a modded Cobra 148 GTL into a Wilson 5000 Roof mount and I had a mobile keydown against the local "Rich Kid" yesterday. My vehicle is a 96 F150 Supercab with a 200 amp alternator. He has an Expedition with a Wilson 5000 mag mount on the roof. He runs a Galaxy 88 into an XForce 2 driving 6 amp WITH a 200 amp XForce motor maul. I beat him like he wasn't even there. He was so mad that he sold me his amp for 300 dollars.....300 dollars for a brand new 2x6 XFORCE. Right place at the right time.

I got a good one! I went to a junk yar to see if they might have a muffler to fit my truck. I walked the gates and there was a car, had just come in. I looked the back window and seen an old Sears 23 mobile radio. I asked them how much they wanted for it. I fugured I could either fix it and sell it or part it out. They told me I could just take it. I got back and hooked it up, and it works good. The mike has some sticky stuff on the button, which I think is causing the slight squeal in it. Aside from that it works good. I figue clean the switch in the mic and it will stop the sqealing. I Hope. A Free radio that works. Top That deal! Hey semo rebel, when you go looking in old parted our vehicles, check in the glove box. Sometimes you find all sorts of goodies. I have found older 23 channel radio's before but one time I came across some really old "nixon for president" buttons in a old parted out glovebox of an old truck. Maybe not worth much but very old! Good deal on your sears cb!!

Ok, I am going to top that deal. Some people that I work with here at the university know that I have radio for a hobby. I walked into my office a week ago and there was a box with four radios in it sitting on my desk. The note said "these were my husbands, I hope they still work, enjoy." Apparently her husband has passed away about 10 years ago and she had them. Now thats a deal. All radios work well, two roadtalkers, a johnson and a sharp. Bada bing, bada boom. |

Good deal sitm! I'm getting the itch to hit the garage sales again here soon and see what comes up. Once in a while you'll find somebody that doesn't want cb's anymore. I found a cobra 25 ltd classic witha cobra power mic and paid $3.00 for it and then turned around and sold it on ebay for $45.00!!

OK guys;here goes.how about a "brand new,in the box" kenwood TS440-S/AT all band HF rig for $45.00 at an auction 1 1/2 years ago! Man,was I tickled to death.I even had to cut the tape from the shipping box(outer carton) to check and be sure of what I was seeing!there she was,in her virgin state, still sealed. After that,I also got a "barely used" Astron RS-35M power supply for $15.00 at the very same auction(immediately after the kenwood)! Needless to say,I left that auction faster than a native about to be stomped by an elephant!!! I am indeed very thankful AND lucky.I probably will never have this kinda luck again for sure!! If it is a Diamond 60 it is worth about $150.00, more if it is converted. |

I can't wait til its alittle warmer and the yard sales get into swing. I have seen radios go for 25 cents. Its strange. I guess some peoples junk are others treasures is a true statement. |
