Congrats Karatebutcher! So have you any specific plans as a HAM? Which band(s) and mode(s) do you think you will work? As an 11m DX'er I assume you'll get the upgrade to General ASAP to get on HF?
Congrats again and enjoy whatever you decide to do. Maybe I'll be able to catch you on the air here on 11m or on one of the amateur bands soon.
73,
Barracuda

KARATEBUTCHER:

Congratulations my friend. I hope you and I will be talking on the Ham bands some day, since we can't seem to make it on the CB Bands. You know, I can hit a NAPA, CA 2M Repeater from my QTH. 200 miles. But only early morning before the sun comes up.

I'm orginalily from Glens Falls New York, and as far as I know people from all over the northeast part of New York have to travel to this test site in Rensselaer to test. For some future hams it's a long trip, Glens Falls is about a 120 mile round trip. Now that I live in Oklahoma I tested and was licensed about 17 miles north of my home. There are many test sites here in a 50 mile circle from Oklahoma City. Yankee

Karatebutcher you really went out and surprised me here and I am real proud of you! Awesome achievement for sure. I guess we'll have to start planning new radio purchases that cover many many bands so we can hook up via UHF and VHF frequencies as well as additional HF bands.

Shoot, I better start saving some cash now.....

Congrats my friend, a super job for sure!!!

OH Alsworld you say that again, but you are out to spend my money again, I am going to go dig a hole and put it in it, and I will forget where it is and it will be safe.
