I have not heard anyone except locals on my favorite band for 3 days now. There may be moments of brief openings (VERY brief), but I think for the most part, it's DEAD. It dropped so suddenly, it surprised me somewhat? Is this what we can expect for the next 2 years until the sun spot activity ceases?

The site I've seen says it will be 5 years before sunspot activity has dropped and increased again to the level it is now.

Boy was that a depressing site DavesMeg! I thought 2006 was the bottom. That thing says 2007 is the bottom...

306:

Same with me. Finally connect with someone and it lasts 10 minutes and drops like a rock.

I guess I'm going to have to go to work on all those projects I've been putting off, if I can't talk on the radio all day... :-(

Ca346;
Yep, going to be a few years yet before things start to get better.
The way things are going it looks like it'll be difficult to make even local contacts soon.

This site shows a day-by-day account of sun-spot activity:
http://www.dxlc.com/solar/

BTW, I'm not offended by being called "Meg", it's an easy mistake. I know someone that even calls me "Meggy" :p

Applejack,

I am not sure what the Problem could be.

I just Clicked on Both Links and it took me directly to both of sites.

The Copper LINK can also be found by clicking on the 'Copper Main Page" link to the LEFT of Forum here and scrolling down to the Bottom of main page.

Hope this help's.

Its normal....

The Solar Cycle is in the decline at this time. Skip is dependant largly on the solar cycle. As the cycle is in the decline stage skip on the upper end of the HF Spectrum will become less and less. At the lowest point of the cycle the only people talking skip on a regular basis will be tha Amateur Guys on the 40, 75 and 160 Meters Ham Bands. 10 Meter and CB will become a ghost town for skip.

But do not worry because the cycle will start to rise, eventually bringing upper end skip back.
