I'm sure you will be happy, I don't have a 257, but I have the Roadpro Titan II, which is a lower powered clone of the 257, and it is fantastic. I use it with an Astatic 575 in the mobile, and an Astatic 1104c on the base paired with a KLV250 base amp. Luscious audio!

you'll definetly like this radio. i would like to figure out how to patch my mixer board into the mic plug of mine so i can use a studio condensor mic and/or other audio equipment like a compressor/limiter. the outputs of the mixer is 1/4" jacks similar to a guitar jack. if anyone has info on a decent way to feed this radio in this fashion, id like to see it. ill post my findings

ya, Ca346, I already have a maco 5/8. Ryan, what you can do with tahat is buy a mono male 1/4 inch to bare wire. Next, plug the positive into the recieve pin. Then, take the negative, and run it to the rgound pin. Buy a standard button from radioshack, and run that to the key pin. Something like that. Just get a mic wiring guide, or open up a mic, and look at it, and go from there.

I need big help figuring it out. I got it, and it's weird. I had is done for 11 meters and i am befuddled. If some one could email me on how to get the recieve right, get the frequency counter to work, and tell me how to work it, that would be great.
Thanks Guys,
RSJ

We are probably too close Rattlesnake, but you and I and others here in California have the same home channel, #38 LSB. I'll be listening for you in case a sweetspot opens up.

I did, FoxRacing, and it said nothing about this. I did pick up a few tricks by the manual, though. The manual was the first thing i turned to, but it had no answer for my question.

Rattlesnake,
Did you get it figured out? I'm sure you did, but just incase you still might be having questions. I too have a Magnum 257 myself and got it from Copper as well (sweet radio) it was also set for 11 meters which is band "E" that can be changed by the "mode" button. As far as the freq counter you press function(clarifier) and then press the call button, to switch back, do the same thing again. Just remember anything written in blue you have to use the function button for. Hope that helps.
