Is there anyway do get a sticky meter needle to not stick? Sometimes it swings back to the left and sometimes it stays about a 1/2 inch upward.

yes play with the tiney set screws on the bearings

Boxcar,

As you did not state what Brand/Model Radio, Mobile or Base, New or Older it might just need the SWR/RF Meter Adjusted.

Let us Know what Make & Model and I will check to see if I have the Meter adjustment's for you.

another thought,dont forget static buildup on a meter face will cause them to stay deflected also.
