i just sold my galaxy 99v - looking for something different. i have a maco 750 that i swear hated the 30 watts+ swing from the 99v. there was always a hum or squeal, etc. i have a buddy that runs a cobra 2000 (10 watts peak) in front of his maco 750 and it sounds perfect. i was thinking maybe an older galaxy (perhaps an 88xl) around 20 watts peak would gel with the amp better. i looked at some of the radios copper has for sale and noticed they still sell the 88xl. i want the "CB radio" look - not real interested in a president or ranger, rci, etc. i realize it is hard to upgrade from a 99v but would like something close as far as bells and whistles - anyone have any input on this? thanks.

BTO:

I don't have any advice, but just wanted to keep the post alive, so hang in there and someone who knows about the 88 will respond. Sometimes it takes awhile...:-(
