Hey, anyone know if the linear side of my palomar 35a should work as a mobil box?. I smoked it as I was running it on HIGH without realizing it . I never run it on high., About 10 minutes or so later & bzzzzzpow!. Smoke only came out of the power supply side. I cut the hot & ground wires from the power supply side to the linear side & hooked the linear side up to a car battery & the lights lit up on the linear side. But,it just buzzes real loud A second or two when I plug it in to 110 & it blows the fuse on the back.

Just looking for any opinions on how to tell if it may be worth buying a 40 amp or bigger power supply to try using that way or, would it be worth a try to see if it keys up in my vehicle. I don't have any big gauge wire to run it from next to my radio in the car to the battery,But I really don't want to buy any if someone out there can tell me it's not worth it,Cause I'm no tech. I'm just needing advise on weather or not it's worth a try.

I'm sure it's not too difficult to gut it to lessen the weight & use the exsisting left side of it for a heat sink where the linear is already located & make some kind of case. (to use as a mobile box)
But,someone may could save me the trouble now if you may think the linear got shot with the power supply side.? Thanks for any suggestions.
