Well I'm NOT a happy camper. This is what forum members have talked about many times before dishonest sellers.I got my 6 meter amp in the mail and this is what it looked like in side. You can see the 2nd final has been robbed cables are unsoldered a feed resister un hooked....... I have filed a complant with a online bidding service but there is no reason for any seller to ever do this........ uncalled for. Bruce |

I have had my problem too. Purchased two(2) galaxy's that were, " tuned" and ready to go. Well I found out why I distrust majority of people. Couldn't do a darn thing after the money was sent and gone. ( Plus the a-wipe tried to make out it was something I had done in the purchase) ????? Don't figure. Good luck on your protest. |

This guy wrote me a nasty e-mail but backed off and is willing to have me return it. I dont buy a lot off e-bay and will be buying even less now. There is no reason to sell guted stuff unless you say so..... SAY ITS MISSING PARTS.... he infured in his writeup it should work if he had said its missing parts there is no way i would have bid on it. |

I quit e-bay a couple of years ago when a guy refused to send me my guitar I won on bid because, "I didn't figure on the shipping being so much." I had to send the guy an extra $30. I hated the guitar because of this and soon sold it. No more e-bay. mikefromms |

Bruce I think we all have been burned at one time or another on E-bay. And yes, it certainly is discouraging. But speaking for myself, the good transactions I have made on E-bay far outweigh the bad ones. Just my personal thought. Jeff. |

I think ebay is okay as far as the homework involved in it. I have spent several hours looking at what people sell as far as radio's go but making sure that their feedback doesn't have a lot of negatives. I have bought linear tubes and said they were new old stock then in return they didn't have but 5% left in them and forgot to check the feedback on this guy and he was averaging about 3 negatives a week. I personally think if you really want an item and want to know its history, the person selling will not have a problem taking lots of detailed pictures of what the insides look like and go from there. Sorry to hear about that amp Bruce. We've all been down that road before. I'm glad your dispute was settled.

So far I have not had a problem with eBay, knock on wood. A few tips here,1) Check sellers feedback rating 2)email seller with lots of questions. If you still don't feel comfortable, then don't bid. Bruce, sorry to hear of your misfortune. Glad to see y'all worked it out. |

The point here was he KNEW it had been stripped he TOLD ME he opened it and forgot to put the screws back in! now if it had been factory sealed ..... my problem but most MOST sellers on e-bay are honest ..... this guy fest up when i rased a stink. My buying off e-bay are going to be much more limited and this guy will have to show me he being up frount before i ever buy from him again. AGAIN if a dealer is in doubt list it as not working or for repair if i had seen that or missing parts .... which he knew i would not have bid on it! If this saves one forum member a problem with e-bay it was worth bring up! |

I have never been burned on Ebay. If I buy radios I make sure they are unmodded and unpeaked and the 3 radios I bought were excellent. I would NEVER EVER buy an amp on Ebay, whether it's new or used you are taking a big gamble. |

You know its not that much money I didnt buy top end stuff i just didnt see a need to my station covers 160 meters ( 1.8 mhz) to 2/4 meters ( 450 mhz ) all modes. Just buy good radios and your set for a long time. MY ft-620 in not in the photo it was bought in 1976 still works fine but now is a back up radio the ft-100 has replaced it. |

bruce i feel your discuss. im going through the same thing here with a ********* *8 on that auction service.he did the exact same thing to me. item came looking like it was plowed up from a farmers field and had broken componets inside and didnt work the case was beat up ect. the shipping box was in great shape so it was sent off in this condition. the pic was of a cherry unit. the other item was a texas star 667v from ****** ** in the same shape as your amp only it has all finals inplace but thier burnt.and the on/off button busted out and its not the same amp as pictured in the auction.he knew it was junk and him and his friend are doing this to alot of folks on ebay so BEWARE of these guys they'll get you! im about over ebay they dont take a firm enuff stand on dead beats. ive filed a complaint ect but they more or less say its up to us to settle this. whats that, " thats not on line auction protection" how about prosicuting dead beats and con artists if they fail to do the right thing. most people are honest on thier but who want to risk it anymore! |

Bullet It's sad that dealers just cant be honest..... this guy only fest up after i PAID e-bay $20 to file a complaint. There needs to a set of standards on e-bay in plane english if the dealer sells you something that has been tampered with or just plane beat up it MUST be stated in his discription of the idem. Also " AS IS " should only apply to anything that is in a stock state... otherwise just be honest and say it dont work. This dealer admitted he took it apart ( DOH ! ) .... And forgot to put the screws back in. I dont buy a lot on e-bay I have fornd its very hard to beat coppers ( this is a fact not ment to be a plug ) i buy from them every chance it get and ham only stuff ( coppers dosn't carry ) from R&L ( OHIO ), Ham radio outlet or MFJ. Buyer BEWARE should not have to apply to EVERYTHING bought on e-bay HONESTY should. |
