Hello.
I have a used RCI 2990 and it has a quirky oddball problem. When you turn it on for about 1/2 a second it will key up and it shows on the meter. After that it works great no other problems. What causes the short burst of carrier on AM when its first turned on????

Oh ok... Ill leave it as is i guess and not worry bout it.. My old 2990 i had 2 years ago did the same thing...

Another small problem has come up.. The guy that i got it from told me the freqency readout bulbs sometimes flicker when the radio is first turned on and then after about 25 seconds they work fine. Whats causing this?
