Are there any local CB clubs out there anymore? Any organized coffee breaks or swap meets? The last club I belonged to died out after a few months. I've never been to a coffee break or Cb only swap meet or outing of any kind. |

Nothing that I know of here near me. There is a couple of nets on Friday and saturday evening every week. They are swap meet type but appear to be mostly the Ham guys that love the old tube radios. They don't identify themselves as Hams, they just sound like it. Know what I mean? They call it the OLD TUBE NET. |

Here where we(CM3885 and myself) are in Indiana, they have a coffee break the first Saturday of every month. We are trying to start a local club here. |

I live in Central Fl. No Cb coffee breaks that I know of. Most of the local clubs have died out. If there are any in my neck of the woods I'd like to know about it. Wendy

There are no clubs or CB's where I'm at at all. We have a CB shop here a few miles away at the Truckstop. But that's just for the truckers at that truckstop really. The guy doesn't even really have a base. He talks on 6m. Nobody out here even gives a darn anymore about CB or ham. Which breaks my heart. CellPhones with walkie talkie ability are now replacing a CB. It's becoming a lost hobby anymore I think. CB had it's shot in the 70's and 80's. I'm the only base station that I know of in these parts. Sad......Very sad. This is Idaho. Disneyland for Cows, But for people?

didn't know people really lived in idaho, thought it was just a myth perpetuated by travel agents here in the big city to get us poor slobs to spend our $ on vacations to the country (-: just messin' wit ya. no dx- even the kids are gone from the band, no mobiles on the local mobile ch, just the truckers on 19, last of the clubs were gone 15 yrs ago. the BIG boys on ch 6 haven't even had a "key-down" in a while. |

But if a driver need's help around Ada area he or she will get some good radio assisant's from the few who are here. Use'ly Friday and Satuday night it get's pretty noise around here with the few who do still operate. Cef 294 |

Been into CB and then Ham for about 37 yrs since I was 15. Years ago there was the CNJCB club. It was a great group. Then there was a loose knit group on channel 20 who would get together for coffee breaks. Today I know one other local guy. Admittedly many I knew are no longer with us. They are greatly missed. Any CNJ guys or gals on the forum? Mac |

We are starting one here, so far mostly guys in my Church =who are invlived in an Orphanage in Mexico -and we use them to keep in contact. Slowly, other lical men are joining us on the air, and even for coffee, installations, antenna raising, and things like that. It is a lot of fun. |

Here in Chicago alot of the CB'ers meet on Friday night at 87th street and the Dan Ryan Expressway in the Jewel parking lot. They call it " Fight Night " and have shoot outs, sometimes until 1 or 2 in the morning. Sometimes the guys from X-Force are there. |
