One of the new Geiko insurance commercials has a cool song in it by The Legendary Shack Shakers called "CB Song" - here's a sample from their website:

http://www.cockadoodledont.com/mp3s/cbsong.mp3

It got me thinking about the C.W. McCall song Convy and movies like "Citizen's Band" and "Smokey and the Bandit" among others.

What are your favorite songs, movies or TV shows about CB and radio or that use CB and radio as part of the plot?

I am an engineer and have to maintain a certain image in my chosen profession. Thus, my anonymity here. With that said~

I have to admit to my brothers and sisters here on this forum that I have a weakness. I am nervous about this... I know I need to talk about it, and my friends here will support me for coming out like this... So here goes...

Friends... I love watching the Dukes of Hazzard!

(Blubbering), I own the whole first season on DVD. I have all the episodes on VHS. I have a 69 Dodge Charger in storage waiting to be turned into a General Lee. I know all the words to the theme song. Daisy Duke was my first love. I can lip along with the lines in "One armed Bandit". I am ill.

There... It's out.

Tech833 - I can't hold any of that against you because the Dukes of Hazzard have long been a guilty pleasure of mine, and well may have contributed to my love of CB.

I still remember the first episode where they introduce the story by telling the story of the engine and the General Lee.

Great stuff for at least the first few years. Daisy Duke was smokin hot! I never got used to the nylons with the short shorts, but I guess they had to do that to get it on TV in the first place!

I stopped watching when Tom Wopat and John Schneider left the first time. I didn't know the shows were on DVD. Now I have to buy them.

Good luck with the transformation of the '69 Charger into the General Lee. I understand you're in good company there - Kid Rock has one, and I believe I heard that John Schneider has the very last one used on the show.

Them Dukes...

I just visited Cooters Garage in Gatlinburg about 2 weeks ago. I heard that Cooter is trying to get the series back on the air (syndication) and also starting a new Dukes series.

Did anyone catch that interview? I think they just had a Duke fest in Bristol last month...
