I want to buy a Texas Star 250 from a friend of mine. Do you think I will have any problems running it in my 2000 Toyota Tacoma pick up? I'll be using it with a Texas Ranger 296 and a Wilson 1000. I already have 10 gauge wire connected to my battery with a quick disconnect at the amp end. |

I dont think you will have a problem at all.. i run a klv300 in my tacoma with a TR 696f with a wilson 1000 mag.. I have had no problems so far.. the only thing i would do is take a run an extra ground to the chasis some where cause you might end up going thru your car radio.. |

I have a regular cab and I mounted my radio on the back wall of the cab, on that rib that runs across it. So it basically sits about shoulder height on my right. Where do you have your amps? |

I also have a Toyota Tacoma (1997) extended cab pu. (Love that 30mpg) I have no amp in it because the radio is an Ranger AR3500 (100W). I ran it straight to the battery. No extra ground needed. The SWR was flat. I suppose I could add a ground strap from the radio to the seat bolts. I put my radio at an angle near my right elbow between the bucket seats. It's attached to the floor with a 6" high gimbled mount. COPPER Wilson 1000 through the roof antenna. I did pull my antenna top down with a strong piece of heavy thread. It allows me to go in and out of the garage w/o taking the antenna off. I have talked to Australia from it...
