if you are looking for a regular cb, then they are just about all the same... now you can get a cherokke Ah 100 which is a ssb/am handheld which is pretty cool. you can get 12 watts out of them... htey are modifiable for the extras... a tad exspensive but worth it.. there is also the titain an eagle sidewinder they are all the same radio..

For a cheap hand held C.B. you can go with the Maxon, or for a little more the Cobra. I've used them both with mag mounts when off-roading and they both did a fine job with a small hand held mic/speaker. But they are only AM radios. The other choice would be the GMRS/FRS radios but my exerience is even if they claim 6 miles you'll only get about 3 or so out of them. But they are clean and quite FM radios, and you can choose one of 15 of private sub-frequency's on each channel if there is traffic on the regular 22 regular channels.

I have a cobra with the weather channels on it, I talk to a guy down the road all the time with it, and it works well, and won't break the bank, and the weather channels come in handy.
