I picked up my Galaxy 2517DX from Tech8541 on Saturday. He informed me that there was some sort of left over part from a boched up hacked tune up/mod from an undisclosed CB shop. When I bought the radio I was told "it has been returned to stock and aligened per spec" end quote. Hmm if it had a full alignment by the shop I bought it from then why can't I talk on sideband?

So off to Tech8541 with my sick radio for a full alignment. I have to tell ya this darn radio absolutley ROCKS after Tech8541 did his majic on it! Local contacts out to 60 miles can believe it's the same radio! Gee my clarifier is now at twelve oclock where it should be and I don't have to turn it half a turn to get someone on freq. Sunday morning I did a CQ on 38 LSB and much to my AMAZEMENT some one from Ireland returned my call. Next CQ and what do ya know, Germany came in like a local.

My love affair with this radio has now turned a new leaf. I even yanked my 2950DX outta my truck to get the same treatment done to it! Darn maybe I can make contact on CEF net again! I have never and I repeat never had the quality and customer service that I recieved from 8541. If you have any doubts on where to send a sick Galaxy or Ranger Radio look no further. I want to thank Richard and Daddy O' for taking such good care of me and my equipment!
See ya,
Shane CEF 260 I do believe you will now hear me on the Sunday NET!!!!

Beantown, welcome to the club of happy "sharp-shooter tuned" DX2517 owners! You get to experience the bootleg CB experience at it's very best with that radio. Plus they look cool as all get up!

d*^n....i'm blushing!!! seriously.

i am going to try and get the other 2 radios done by this weekend, but we have 2 big projects this week; a repeater system installation in a factory(the repeater i was setting up when you came in sat) and a cctv system between 4 buildings at a cotton gin. plus, we had to let a guy go monday(called in 1st thing to say he had stayed up too late and couldn't come in), so i am short a man meaning i may actually have to leave the shop.

-but-, i am very happy you are pleased with your last radio, and i am positive you'll be pleased with these radios when you get them back.
