hey everyone,
first off, i wanted to thank copper for the radio, it was money well spent. Before it was shipped, i had it peaked/tuned. All i have to say is that the modulation and the receiver are amazing. Compared to my Cobra 29ltd, I think i went from a volvo to a caddy. The rf control must be kept on minimum or people say im over modulating:-) BUT(there always is one), when i have the echo on and I key up, I get a squeal, even when turned all the way down, what can be causing this??? Any info tech808?

thanks
John

does the radio have talkback?if so it could be feeding back.or it could be somthing in the wiring is wired wrong.when you say when its down all the way do you mean the echo is turned down all the way?and it squeals?sounds like a wiring problem to me.good luck

sorry i didnt elaborate more, I only get the squeal when the echo is on. With this radio, if the echo is on, then so is the talkback, which i really dont need. If the echo is off, then talkback is off. It happens whether its turned up or down(echo). does this help any?

thanks
john

what kinda mike ya using?power mikes arent very good with talk back i would recommend a roadking 56 noice cancelling mike. if that doesnt help get an external speaker mount it far away from your mike as possible.these steps are usually done 2 cure feed back from your speaker if thats your problem these 2 things usually fixes that.just my 2 cents worth from same problem

well, the mike got rid of the squeal. I replaced the stock mike with an astatic(sp?) 636l from my local shop. now, all is well.

thanks for the help
