Another question pertaining to my first post,my house peak is 19 feet above the ground,if I put the antenna up another 17 feet to the base of the antenna to get to 36 feet is it far enough off the roof?Its a shingle roof,just wondering about interferance and such.I have a clear veiw of the northern and eastern sky but have trees to the south and west approx 40 feet away from the house.Will be running an I-MAX or a Maco,not sure which yet.thanks-Harvey |

That should work fine for you. If you have neighbors and plan on running power you will probably get into most everything ie. TV, stereo, computer speaker, phone line and so on. The neighbors will be calling or knocking. As far as a base antenna goes, the higher the better. |

36 feet will be fine i use to run my i max 2000 at that height and my radio got out good. |

Harvey I asked the same question on the forum and virtually everyone here has said that you want your antenna at least 36 feet to the feed point, so that should work fine for you.
Back to the I-Max for a minute. The real strong point of I-Max is that it covers 10 thru 12 meters without an antenna tuner, and with an SWR of under 1.5.1. There isn’t another antenna out there that will do that. So if you do buy the RCI 2995DX it would be the antenna that would work best for you.
There was a review done by one of the techs on the forum on the I Max 2000. Tech 833 is a true professional when it comes to antennas. What I mean by that is he does major commercial installs and really knows his stuff. You can read his review of the I-Max by going to the topics page, then opening the "Subscriber (Preview") folder then the "Product Reviews" folder, and finally open "Imax 2000 Exposed".
I think his review might help you decide on which antenna to go with.
I know both are great antenna’s but with the bandwidth of the I-Max 2000 and the coverage of the RCI I would honsetly lean towards the I-Max.
Again just my opinion and I could be wrong.
